This Privacy Policy and Terms of Use (this “Policy”) applies to the websites, mobile applications, and other digital content (the “DSR Sites” or the “Sites”) owned and operated by the Dermatology Science and Research Foundation ("DSR" or “we”). DSR may revise and update this Policy at any time. Your continued usage of the Sites will mean that you accept any such changes.
The contents of the DSR Sites, such as text, graphics, images, and other materials created by DSR or obtained from DSR's licensors, and other materials contained on the DSR Site (collectively, the "Content") are for informational purposes only. The Content is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Although we are doctors by profession, we are not YOUR doctors. Therefore, any and all Content provided is for informational and educational purposes only. No Content provided will constitute medical advice or establish any kind of doctor-patient relationship.

We may collect and store information about your use of the Sites or the Content, such as your engagement with particular content including editorial, advertisements, sponsored informational programs from our supporters, which may include pharmaceutical companies ("Sponsored Programs"), whether you opened a particular email, clicked on a link, and when you engage with the Content. We also may collect information about your device when you access the Content including IP address, browser information (including referring URL), cookie information and advertising ID (which is a unique, user-resettable identification number for advertising associated with a mobile device), all of which may be associated with information we have about your use of the Content. When you register for a continuing medical education activity, you must provide certain personal information such as your name, email address, zip/postal code, profession, occupation, specialty and depending on your country of practice, your medical license number or equivalent. You may choose to update or supplement the personal information that you provided at registration at any time.

Information Forms. From time to time we may offer you the opportunity to receive additional information or services from us or from third parties. If you wish to receive such information or services, you may be asked to provide personal information to fulfill the request. Unless otherwise specified in the request form, we may use such information as described in this Policy and the third party, if applicable, will use such personal information as described at the point of collection.
Information Use
Information about you may be used for the following purposes:

Verification Purposes. We may use your information in conjunction with information from third parties to verify your identity and/or professional credentials. We may require you to provide proof that you are a healthcare professional and, if you are unable to do so to our reasonable satisfaction, we reserve the right to deny you participation in the Content or any component thereof. While we take steps to verify that our members who identify as healthcare professionals are actually healthcare professionals, we make no guarantee as to their identity, professional credentials, or licensure status.
Information Sharing
Information about your use of the Content may be shared as follows:

Consent. We may disclose your personal information to a third party in a manner not addressed by this Policy, subject to your consent at such time.

Aggregated Information. We may provide aggregated information about users of our Content to third parties as we deem appropriate in our sole discretion. For example, DSR may tell a customer what percentage of registered users reside in a particular geographical area or specialize in a particular clinical area or what percentage of participants in a survey selected a particular response to a survey question.

Social Widgets. We may include social widgets within the Sites which enable you to interact with the associated social media services (such as sharing the Content). These widgets may collect browsing data which may be received by the third party that provided the widget and are controlled by these third parties. You may be able to manage your privacy preferences directly with the applicable social network platform.

Business Transfers. We may share your information among the respective websites that we own and with our subsidiaries, affiliates, and companies acquired by or merged with us and our affiliates. We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect the personal information that we have under our control from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, and accidental loss. When you enter personal information, we encrypt the transmission of that information or use Secure Socket Layer (“SSL”) connections technology. You are solely responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account username and password. Unfortunately, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Choice & Control

Account Information. You may contact DSR at hello@DSR.foundation and request that your registration information be updated or deleted. Note that if we delete your account, we may maintain certain de-identified information about you for internal business purposes including research, analytics and reporting.

Cookies. Most browser software can be set to reject all cookies, including third-party cookies. If you choose to reject DSR cookies, however, your ability to access and use the Content may be limited.

Email Communications. Your email address will not be sold to a third party if you sign up to be included on our email distribution list. Our periodic email distributions include emails announcing conferences and meetings, educational programs, sponsored content, articles, and information about other Content. You may opt out or unsubscribe at any time.
Privacy Shield Compliance

DSR complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States. DSR has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles. If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern. DSR is responsible for the processing of personal data it receives, under the Privacy Shield Framework, and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf. DSR complies with the Privacy Shield Principles for all onward transfers of personal data from the EU and Switzerland, including the onward transfer liability provisions.

DSR submits to being subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the FTC, the Department of Transportation, or any other U.S. authorized statutory body with regards to our self-certification and implementation of the Principles, and acknowledges the right of the EU or Swiss individual, under certain conditions, to invoke binding arbitration, at no cost to the individual, in filing a complaint disputing DSR's adherence to these practices.

Independent Dispute Resolution Mechanism
In compliance with the Privacy Shield Principles, DSR commits to resolve complaints about our collection or use of your personal information. Individuals in the European Union and Switzerland with inquiries or complaints regarding our Private Shield policy should first contact M3, refer to our Contact Information section below.
Dispute Resolution
It is expressly agreed that any issue, controversy, dispute, or claim arising out of this Policy shall be settled through arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in accordance with its Commercial Arbitration Rules, and judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
